Tweedledum, with Ray bates at the helm, led the race from start to finish in what were near perfect conditions in Ballyteigue Bay. The smallest boat in the race kept all the bigger rivals behind it as it crossed the finish line. Second place went to the Brian Murphy skippered Bumbalash, who despite a good effort on the final leg, could not catch the winner. Having passed a lot of the fleet on its way around the course, Brian ran 1' 28" short of taking the win. Third on the day went to Alice Shanahan on board Equity 5' 36" behind Bumbalash, who in turn had 3' 17" advantage over Des walsh on Terantulus.
The next six boats were covered by a slim margin of 2' 8", with Michael Buckley on Twilight Song & John Scott on Jumo not being able to be seperated by human eye on the finish line in a tie for 8th place. Alltogether there were 13 yachts crossed the start line, with all boats making it back to the finish without any gear failure or retirement.
Next race will be the Celtic Link Challenge during the seafood festival on July 9th.
